Seafood Skewers. My lunch today.

Oh boy! I just had to twitt about the lunch I just had!!!! Done in no time and so delicious :D. Is it true that an image is worth more than a thousand words?
What do you think? Some days ago I saw something at Val’s blog that caught my attention: BloggerAid Changing the Face of Famine and I thought it would be great to be there too and give Giz and Val a hand with their fantastic project!!! So why don’t you join? There’s still time until May 31st! All you have to do is follow the previous link and there you will find all information to participate in the event. It’s as easy as giving one of your food pictures to Lisa Orgler and let her make the picture become a drawing! It’s part of her Lunchbox Project. She will choose one among all the pictures she collects and it will be set for Auction!!! Aren’t you curious about it? Go check!

Enjoy!!!

C’mon participate in Art Auction with a Twist! It’s free! It will make you feel good! It needs nearly no effort! Maybe your photo is the chosen one! :D :D :D

Now, maybe you are more into meat; then, why don’t you give these a try? What about this Pinchos Morunos?
Or this Lamb Skewers?

Also remember to send me your entries for the BlOg yOur Omelet contest! Friday is the last day (tomorrow)!!! Get all info in the icon on the right column.

Recipe

Ingredients for 4 servings: 2 fresh and ripe Pineapples, a box of cherry tomatoes, 2 green peppers, 2 fresh cuttle fish (you can use squid too), 16 fresh red shrimps, olive oil (2 kinds: to cook --> 0,4ºC and to dress extra virgin), maldon salt, black ground pepper.

  • Get your sticks in water so that they don't get burned.
  • Ask your fishmonger to clean and cut in squares your cuttlefish. Once home clean under tap water and reserve.
  • Peel the shrimps and reserve.
  • Peel a piece of the pineapple and make dices out of it.
  • Cut 4 slices of pineapple to get the sticks in it.
  • Clean and cut the pepper and the cherry tomatoes.
  • Prepare the skewers and grill them or BBQ or cook them at the upper rack of the oven. I did them "a la plancha" with some olive oil. Keep on turning them and when they are ready add a bit of extra virgin olive oil on top, the maldon salt and black ground pepper.

Your recipe sounds delicious and your photos excellent my dear friend. However, the two ladies are tricking people to join them without mentioning that I am no longer part of what they call Bloggeraid, as they deviously excluded me from the project, after I worked so hard for it and created a new site with the same name. Many members who have joined, after an invitation from them, have e-mailed and told me how they were tricked. I must not keep my mouth shut any more.

Those shrimp skewers look amazing Nuria!! Such wonderful flavors and your photos are absolutely gorgeous! I’m sorry I havent dropped by in a while, but the feed for your blog isn’t coming through correctly on the blog list featured on my blog. It’s just registering your Flickr photos as opposed to your lovely posts!

Thank you very much for promoting the BloggerAid-Changing the Face of Famine’s Art Auction Nuria. The important thing is to raise funds for the WFP and the School Meals program. Children are our future!
