Respect… ♪just a little bit ♫! And some Awards.

I wake up in the morning and Boleta looks at me… we all have breakfast together… I take a shower and get dressed and boleta looks at me… my daughter gets her things, we run to the door and boleta looks at me… with this eyes… how could I say no? Ok you can come with us to the street :D. We rush to the bus stop and my daughter climbs on it and dissapears. Boleta and I make our way to the park and find some empty cans and empty beer bottles on the floor beside the trash container… we keep on walking. We pass by a wooden seat and it’s half broken… we keep on walking. Suddenly I notice I step on something that shouldn’t be there! The fine for leaving on the street floor your dog’s deposition is 900 Euros.

I go to buy some things I need in the corner shop, it’s 11:00 in the morning, on my way to the shop I feel some water falling on my head, I run from that spot, look up and there’s somebody watering the balcony plants.

I’m in the kitchen and suddenly I hear the door’s bell, I look down through the window and see small kids rushing to hide behind the pine trees of the park. Their parents are talking and not seeing what the kids do. Now I hear some strong beats to the door… the kids are throwing stones to my door and my neighbour’s. Their parents are nicely talking among them. There’s a kid screaming because his friend is on top of him playing pressing catch and is hurting the first one… the parents are still talking…

It’s really hot at night and some teenagers come to the park in front of my house and seat in the wooden seats and talk and laugh and scream. I hear them from my bed… it’s 12:00 oclock at night… I still hear them, it’s 1:00 oclock at night. Hey it’s summer time, they haven’t started school yet, they don’t have to get up early in the morning! It’s 2:00 oclock in the morning… I still hear them.

Sunday morning before 08:00 AM. The municipal man in charge of sweeping the streets no longer uses a broom… the council’s budget is increasing (thanks to the high taxes we pay) and they now use an electric leaves’ blower that makes an increadible noise!!! The sweeping machine comes right after and gets all the leaves’ piles inside her big stomach.

After reading some of your comments I see that there’s a missunderstanding here: All these things don’t happen to me on the same day… I would die!!!! It’s only a bunch of things that get me mad and I wanted to talk about.

I WANT SOME RESPECT… JUST A LITTLE BIT!!! Please turn player on and listen to wonderful Aretha :D
This is why I’m so happy to be a member of the  foodie world! So peaceful, so respectful, so funny, so polite… everybody knows what good manners mean. Is it that hard to behave normally? Thank you all… you brighten up my days :D

And now to the Awards! See what I mean? I really wanted to do this just after I came back from holidays… but you all know what happens with the things we plan… I set a calender with recipes and posts written in, I’m getting so organized… and keep on changing the recipes and the posts… well, nobody is perfect ;D

My dear friend Valli from More than a Burnt Toast and sweet Judy from No fear Entertaining have sent me this one: Brillante Weblog. Thanks soooo much Valli and Judy. I do feel so honoured :D. Yours is a shinny one t♥♥.

09/10/2008 · 12:43 h by kittie

Oh dear… sounds like one of those days… Enjoy your holiday and see you soon!

Ps. congrats on the awards!

09/10/2008 · 13:07 h by Ivy

Nuria, thank you so much for the award. It means so much that you have thought of me sweetie. All the others are worth this award and congrats to them as well. About your post, the most annoying here in Greece is that the Garbage truck collects the garbage bins every day, including Sundays before 7 a.m. and they awake us up. Then we try to sleep again and when we are about to fall asleep, we have a few gypsies going around in their trucks shouting in a loud speaker that they collect metal objects or sell other things :P Sometimes I want to kill them.

09/10/2008 · 13:14 h by Ben

First of all, thanks for the award my friend. I will proudly show it on my blog.

And what a day! Stepping on dog’s poop, getting wet, being bothered by kids :-| But here we all find R.E.S.P.E.C.T. :-P

09/10/2008 · 13:26 h by Núria

Hola Everybody! So sorry I didn’t write it right! All these things have happened one day or another… not the same day. My appologies.

Peter, Boleta is the sunshine of our lifes!

Thanks so much Kittie :D

Hola Ivy! I understand perfectly well what you mean… I would kill them too ;D. You deserve the award so much :D

Thanks so much Ben! A well deserved award for you with mucho cariño :D

09/10/2008 · 15:26 h by Heather

I have the same problem with teenagers partying at the park next door to my house. I can block them out okay by now. :P

Have a great holiday, Núria!

09/10/2008 · 18:01 h by JennDZ - The Leftover Queen

I know, we have lots of noises where we live too! Funny how you kind of get used to them, but somedays they can be so annoying! Boleta is so lovely! I hope I can pet her one day!

Is she a bichon?

09/10/2008 · 19:06 h by Ruth Daniels

Thanks for the award. I’m honored.

09/10/2008 · 20:52 h by Jen of A2eatwrite

Have a lovely weekend and holiday, Nuria! What kind of dog is Boleta – is she a Bichon? We’re hoping to get one in a year or two… She’s so cute!

And I agree about the respect thing. Sheesh.

09/10/2008 · 21:41 h by Passionate About Baking

Aw Nuria…*BLUSH*…you touched my heart & am glad our paths crossed. Boleta is like the first little dog we owned many many moons ago; she was a little black pappilon, with the same melting eyes. *SIGH*, love the rant about things that happen. Beautifully expressed & so happening all the time. Cheers to foodies & to blogs! Love your blog too…LOADS…congrats on the award, & gracias for passing it on to me. xoxoxo Deeba

i hear you girlfriend! but that dog of yours is a serious cutie.

thanks so much (as always) for thinking of us with these awards!! kisses.

oh and that chorizo empanada – i want – NOW.

09/11/2008 · 0:37 h by Bellini Valli

You deserve all these awards Nuria and more. When I lived in my house it was far from traffic and the only thing I heard at night were the coyotes…which kept visitors from the city awake all night…especially once the coyotes bothered the cattle and the dogs in the neighbourhood too. Now I live in a condo in the city where there is a pub just across the creek. This is convenient for sure…wink…wink for when I am out drinking…”hic”….but once in a while it can be noisy in the summer when all the young people are out on the patio:D I will think of you the next time:D

09/11/2008 · 7:22 h by Núria

Hola Heather! Sure you can deal with them!!! I didn’t have a doubt about it ;D

Jenn, the older I get the more these noises disturb me :(
Boleta is a poodle, but I don’t like poodle’s haircuts, so she might look like a bichon :D

Thank you Ruth!

Hey Jen, I’m planning to make Boleta become a mom. During Xmas time she’ll meet with her White prince ;D. She is a poodle.

He, he, so glad you like it Deeba! I’m happy we met too :D.
Doggies enlighten our lifes, don’t they?

He, he, Amy. So happy you like it :D: the doggie, the award and the empanada ;D.

Oh Val! By the description you give, you live in Paradise!!!! Coyotes don’t make noise… that’s music; same with birdies and other creatures (I’m not including teenagers).
Thanks darling, you are a sweetheart♥

09/11/2008 · 9:23 h by Emiline

Wheee! Awards are fun! Congrats to you!

Thank you so much for the award.

09/11/2008 · 14:47 h by Núria

You are welcome, Emiline :D

09/11/2008 · 16:10 h by glamah16

I am in love with your dog!

09/12/2008 · 1:01 h by Psychgrad

Boleta is a cutie. I like that name too!

You’re more patient than me. I’d be out there yelling at those kids.

09/12/2008 · 7:42 h by Núria

Courtney, you should get one for you, so that you have a great company when Certain Someone is on a trip :D

Hola Psychgrad! Yelling them just makes them worse and the police say that they are young and have to have fun!!!!

09/12/2008 · 18:18 h by katiez

Congrats on both awards – you deserve them!!!

It always amazes how oblivious some people can be to thier own actions (and those of their children… and pets)! Well written.

09/14/2008 · 14:12 h by giz

I seem to have issue with similar noises and people who litter the environment. Bolita has the same eyes as my female Shih Tzu – always in a panic that I might leave her and follows me everywhere I go.

09/15/2008 · 7:33 h by Núria

Hola Katie! Too bad there’s no exam or test to become a parent… anyone can have kids… and they simply don’t care!!!!!!

Hola Giz! I know what you mean… those eyes! Could we see a picture of your Shih Tzu? They are so cute!!!

09/17/2008 · 3:51 h by bee
